The nordic institute for permaculture is responsible for supporting the establishment of advanced permaculture knowledge and practice in the nordic countries and within nordic climates and contexts. This is done primarily though our diploma system.
The nordic institute was created when the international permaculture institute was disbanded in the mid 1990s and has been run by the Swedish, Danish and Norweigan permaculture associations ever since. At the nordic meeting 2019 the Finnish Permaculture association also joined the Nordic institute.
Diploma presentations, decisions about the diploma system, etc. all happen during the nordic meeting, which happens once a year. The nordic meeting is open to all members of the nordic permaculture associations, and is a great opportunity to learn more about the nordic diploma system.
Currently we have 27 diploma holders in all 3 countries and many diploma apprentices working towards recieving their diploma.
